Joseph cried and wept for his father Jacob. He had Jacob embalmed which took 40 days.
Joseph addressed Pharaoh’s court his father Jacob asked him to bury him in Canaan.
Pharaoh said, “Go and bury your father as your father made you swear to do.”
Joseph observed, lamented and buried his father in Canaan near Mamre.
Joseph returned to Egypt with his brothers and all who went with him to bury his father.
Joseph Reassures His Brothers
Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead and went to Joseph and asked forgiveness.
Joseph wept and his brothers threw themselves upon Joseph as his slaves.
Joseph said to his brothers, “Do not be afraid, I will provide for you and your children.”
Joseph stayed in Egypt with his father’s family and lived to one hundred and ten years.
Joseph saw the third generation of Ephraim’s children and the son of Manasseh at his knees.
Joseph said to his brothers God will care for them and asked he be buried with his fathers.
Joseph lived 110 years and was embalmed and was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
